Dear students,
December 8 is one of the cornerstones of the history of the new Albania. On this day, Albanian youth, with courage and determination, paved the way for the greatest social change since the 90s. The students of that time proved that when young people unite their voice and ideals, they have the power to transform reality and open new eras.
December 1990 became a symbol of a collective awakening, of a new hope and a clear orientation towards democratic values. It remains the best example of the irreplaceable role of students in the social and political development of the country.
The University of Tirana, then and today, has been the center of this vision. We remain the largest educational institution in the country, dedicated to forming generations of capable, critical, and responsible students.
We work every day to strengthen academic quality and create more development opportunities for students at home and abroad.
Dear students,
Youth today face new challenges, a rapidly changing job market, technologies that transform every profession, global competition, and the demand to be active and responsible citizens in a world that evolves every day.
But like the students of December 8, you hold the power of change in your hands. You are the generation that will build the next chapter of Albania, a more modern, fairer, and more open country to the world.
Today, our shared challenge and responsibility is to build a stronger, more innovative and more open Albania, a country that offers every young person real opportunities for the future.
December 8 remains proof that youth has the power to influence history.
As it is said:
"The future belongs to young people who dare to believe in their own strength."
You are the young ones, and the time to act is now.
Happy December 8th, Youth Day!
