University Agency of La Francophonie (AUF)

University Agency of La Francophonie (AUF) is an international network of universities and educational institutions that use the French language as a medium of education and scientific research. The AUF aims to promote academic, scientific and cultural cooperation among its members and to support the development of higher education and research throughout the Francophone world.

The main objectives of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) are:

Promoting international cooperation between Francophone universities;
Promoting the mobility of students, professors and researchers;
Supporting research and innovation projects in higher education;
Exchange of best practices in the field of teaching, university management and capacity development;
Strengthening the role of Francophone universities in global developments and in the promotion of the French language and culture;

The University of Tirana, through the Faculty of Foreign Languages and its other faculties, has been actively engaged in joint projects with the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF). These projects have contributed to strengthening the research, teaching and innovation capacities of our institution, promoting internationalization and regional and international cooperation.

In this context, the University of Tirana has participated in and won the following projects:

Linguistic tools and communication strategies for the assessment of national tangible and intangible cultural heritage (PCMI, FGJH);

Consortium d'innovation pour construire des communautés participatives dans les universités d'Europe Centrale et Orientale (FGJH);

Strengthening skills in digital pedagogy and personal data protection (FGJH);

Soutien aux Equipes de recherche en Europe centrale et orientale – INTICE SER-ECO (FGJH);

INTEGRATION du numérique aux methodologies de l'enseignement/apprentissage et défis de formation des enseignants – INTICE (FGJH);

Developing and integrating new pedagogical and technological approaches to teaching foreign languages in the pre-university system in Albania, as a solution for the post-Covid period (FGJH);

Do sports every day, not just 1 week a year (FGJH);

Traitement automatique des langues (TAL): Les outils informatique dans le traitement de la langue: leur manipulation et utilization en français appliqué (FGJH);

How to make our cultural heritage speak? – Creativity and mediation in the recognition of cultural heritage (DRECO-7387, FGJH);

Facilitating and supporting the expansion of the Council of Europe Cultural Routes on the Web – EXITINCULTWEB (FHF);

Development of sciences in French in ECO (FGJH);

Francophonie and the Evaluation of Albania: Tradition, Modernity and Cultural Bridges (FGJH).

Through these projects, the University of Tirana has consolidated its role as a key actor in the field of research and teaching in the French language, promoted cultural diversity and contributed to the development of innovative practices in pedagogy, science and cultural heritage.
