The World Bank has recognized Albania’s GovTech Program as a “Global Leading Program.” This is a major achievement, as it places Albania among the best examples of successful digital transformation for citizens.

The National Information Society Agency (AKSHI) announced this development during an important meeting, such as the roundtable "Albanian Borders in GovTech", held at the World Bank headquarters in Washington, D.C. Albania presented its digital journey and the representative team presented the model for modernizing public administration through technology.

This meeting was attended by the Deputy Director of AKSHI, Hava Delibashi, along with Romina Kostani, Director for the Digital Agenda and Foreign-Funded Projects, and Ermal Jaurin, Coordinator of the GovTech Program.

During the same forum, Albania highlighted another achievement: the introduction of the use of Artificial Intelligence to approximate national legislation with that of the European Union. This was done during the Global Forum on GovTech and Innovation in the Public Sector, held from 27 to 29 May.

The Albanian delegation also participated in a special roundtable on "Modernization of Institutions, Economic Growth and Job Creation for Europe and Central Asia", where the Minister of State for Local Government, Arbjan Mazniku, and the Ambassador of Albania to the US, Ervin Bushati, were also present.

According to AKSHI, the team also presented the e-Albania 2.0 platform. This new version offers proactive, personalized and life-event-based services. It also uses Artificial Intelligence. For example, the digital assistant Diella 3.0 can generate documents instantly through a simple voice command.

In addition, the platform now uses a microservices architecture and a more robust interaction system. It supports over 297 million transactions per year.

It is important to note that the platform promotes inclusion. It improves accessibility for people with disabilities and ensures social inclusion at every stage of the design. In addition, AKSHI is building 216 SmartLabs in 200 schools, which will prepare young people for the digital age.

Albania proves that vision, commitment, and smart technology can create a transparent, efficient, and citizen-centered government.
