The University of Tirana welcomed in a ceremony the new professors, who currently work in almost all the universities of the country, public and private. The University of Tirana organized for the first time the Ceremony of Awarding the Academic Titles "Professor" and "Associate Professor".

From today, 97 professors have been added to the professorate community in the entire Albanian university system, of which 17 received the academic title of "Professor" and 80 the title of "Associate Professor".

In his speech, the rector of the University of Tirana Prof. Dr. Artan Hoxha highly valued the contribution of each of the academics to the development of the country in the fields of scientific research. The University of Tirana is proud to issue these academic titles not only to UT lecturers but to all universities in Albania.

This is the first time that evaluations for the title "Professor" are made by the University of Tirana, through the Academic Personnel Promotion Commission (KPPA). A career lecturer, who applies for the title "Associate Professor" and "Professor", submits to the committee the file of his research and scientific activity, which consists of articles and references held at international scientific conferences, published in recognized scientific journals international, and which have been referred by other researchers, local and foreign.
