Dear colleagues, lecturers and employees of the University of Tirana! 

I am happy to wish you today, on behalf of the Rectorate of the University of Tirana and the Conference of Rectors of Albania, on your day, March 8. 

Although this is already a day of celebration, I think that it will have to continue to be considered as a day of reflection for the entire society and state institutions. A day of reflection to understand that freedom and democracy have no value if both men and women are not equal before it. A day of reflection for law enforcement institutions, to guarantee the protection of women from all forms of violence. 

This 8th of March there are fresh some serious events to the detriment of the life and health of women, which shocked the Albanian society, but which are not events and phenomena of our society only. 

Therefore, through this message, I want to wish you a happy day of March 8, but also to express the support of the Rectorate of the University of Tirana in your every effort, to ensure a social and social environment, where husband and wife do not they are evaluated by their gender, but by their professional skills and the contribution they make to society.
