The main objective of the project is to shed light through the collection of relevant data on the conditions through which the relationship between Regulation No. 1215/2012 (Brussels Ia) and other instruments of EU law should be addressed, in order to investigate the impact that the aforementioned case results in the effective implementation of the acquis law of the EU on judicial cooperation in civil matters and for the effective implementation of decisions, in the light of the collected jurisprudence, in accordance with the priority of the call.
Expected results include:
- increasing the capacities of practitioners to address issues related to judicial cooperation in civil and commercial matters, especially in terms of implementation;
- raising awareness, both at the practical and institutional level, regarding the complexity of the relationship between the Brussels Ia Regulation and other EU instruments;
- improving the legal framework and regulations regarding judicial cooperation in civil cases through the identification of possible solutions to alleviate the criticisms examined.
Activities:
- Collection of all relevant national and ECHR jurisprudence;
- Analysis of crucial issues related to the interaction between the Brussels Regulation and other instruments of EU law;
- Organization of the Final International Conference;
- Organization of seminars (Genoa and Tirana);
- Drafting of a manual;
- Drafting recommendations to political institutions;
- Drafting of guidelines for legal practitioners;
- Creation of the project website.
