Project summary

TETHYS4ADRION focuses precisely on the connection between land, rivers and sea in terms of plastic pollution in the countries of the Adriatic-Ionian region (Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Italy, Montenegro, Albania and Greece).

The aim of the pilot activities is to lay the foundations for cross-border cooperation, build a community of experts in the region that will ensure sustainability and capitalization of results based on the knowledge gained during the project activities.

At the regional level, the project aims to harmonize protocols and methodologies for monitoring waste sampling in rivers, as well as their transport from rivers to the sea to ensure coherence and efficiency in solving the problem.
