On 12.01.2015, in the Hall of the Academic Senate of the Rectorate of the University of Tirana, the ceremony of awarding the title "Doctor Honoris Causa" to Mr. Hashim Thaçi was organized with the motivation: "For outstanding contribution to the freedom of the people of Kosovo, the integrative reforms towards the Euro-Atlantic family as well as social-economic development for all citizens of Kosovo."

This ceremony was attended by Mr. Ilir Meta, Speaker of the Assembly of Albania, Mrs. Lindita Nikolla, Minister of Education and Sports, Mr. Bekim Çollaku, Minister of European Integration, Prof. Dr. Dhori Kule, Rector of the University of Tirana, UT senators, many personalities from the field of politics, education and other fields, a delegation from Kosovo and many other guests.
