The University of Tirana organized the "Debate Championship" activity.

The purpose of this activity was to encourage and improve students' critical thinking about certain issues and increase mental alertness. During competitions of this type, students improve in communication, process information faster and articulate their ideas better.

Formats

The competition was held simultaneously on November 5-15, 2014, at the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and the Faculty of Social Sciences.

The activity took place in the form of debates between groups, according to a certain time structure with direct questions/answers.

Applications were made in groups of 4 students from the same faculty.

The competition was organized in 2 stages:

The first phase belongs to the competition within the relevant faculty. The groups that have previously applied to be part of the competition will face each other in this debate. From this stage, a winning group will be announced for each faculty, which will have the opportunity to represent its faculty in the final debate.

The second phase belongs to the final debate. The debate will take place between the 4 winning groups of the first stage. Through a lottery, the pairs of groups that will debate will be determined. The winners of each pair will face each other to announce the winning group of this activity.

The winning group of this debate was the group with representative students from the Faculty of Economics.
