Scientific Research - UNIVERSITY OF TIRANA

Scientific Research

The University of Tirana carries out basic or applied research-scientific activities, studies, scientific expertise, development projects and other creative activities aimed at increasing the quality of education and the development of the country.

Scientific research is carried out in accordance with the mission and fields of activity of UT, as well as the primary fields identified by AKKSHI.

Departments, scientific research centers and institutes, at the beginning of each academic year, determine the fields, directions, volume of work and deadlines of scientific research activity, except for cases where they have approved medium and long-term plans for scientific research.

The main units and basic units of UT encourage their realization by the academic staff.

The main objectives of scientific research at the University of Tirana are based on 5 main pillars (strategic goals), which are closely related to strengthening the quality of scientific research at UT, recognized nationally and internationally, with its quality and impact, as well as orientation towards the needs of the country for development. These five pillars or strategic goals are:

  1. Quality recruitment and career development based on merit and competition: "Aim for excellence!"
  2. Increasing financial support for scientific research
  3. Opening the university to the market and responding to the country's needs
  4. Internationalization of research-scientific activity
