General objective of the K-FORCE project is the contribution to build a sustainable educational foundation in the field of Disaster Risk Management and Fire Safety Engineering in the countries of the Western Balkans. The project is interdisciplinary in nature, where engineering is the main discipline. Other disciplines to be addressed in the curricula of the new programs include: environmental protection, architecture and construction, civil protection, fire sciences, climatology, hydrology, seismology and economics. The knowledge gained in the field of Disaster Risk Management and Fire Safety Engineering will provide the basis for building a sustainable society capable of responding to catastrophic events.

The K-Force project staff has carried out several activities during the project implementation period

and study visits to partner countries.

Accordingly, the following were realized:

  • K-FORCE project opening meeting and conference on December 12-15, 2016;
  • K-FORCE project management group meeting in Tirana, Albania, on February 23-24, 2017;
  • Study visit and K-FORCE project management group meeting at Aalborg University (Denmark), April 25-29, 2017;
  • Study visit and K-FORCE project management group meeting at the Technical University of Denmark (Denmark) and Lund University (Sweden) on 26-29 June 2017;
  • The First International Symposium of the K-Force Project, in Novi Sad (Serbia), on September 14, 2017;
  • Project management group meeting at the University of Novi Sad and the Technical School of Vocational Studies in Novi Sad (Serbia), on September 15, 2017;
  • Study visit and meeting of the project management group at the University of Zilina, on January 29 to February 2, 2018.
  • Study visit and meeting of the project management group at the University of Skopje, on July 2 to July 6, 2018.
  • Trainings and mobilities for teaching within the K-Force project

In the framework of the project, mobilities for the purpose of teaching and training in partner universities were foreseen.

Of these, it is worth mentioning:

  • one mobility for teaching at the University of Novi Sad, and four 2-week mobility for training, namely at the universities of Lund, Aalborg, Zilina and Skopje during the academic year 2017-2018;
  • four other mobilities for teaching and two mobilities for training during the academic year 2018-2019;
  • six semester mobility of students during the 2018-2019 academic year at the University of Novi Sad, Serbia;
  • eight teaching mobilities from Partner Universities at the University of Tirana, namely from the universities of Lund, Aalborg, Zilina, Skopje, Novi Sad, Tuzla, Banka Luka, and the Technical High School of Novi Sad.
