The University of Tirana together with Yunus Social Business organized on November 6, 2014, the International Social Business Conference in the Aula Magna hall in the Liria Building of the Student City. The Rector of the University of Tirana, Prof. Dr. Donated Kule; Deputy The Prime Minister of Albania, Mr. Niko Peleshi; The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Nikolin Jaka as well as other well-known figures from the political, academic and economic life of the country.

The guest of honor at this international conference was the honored professor, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Muhammad Yunus. Prof. Yunus has left precious traces and has made an extraordinary contribution in the field of economic and social development, giving new opportunities to communities in need.

The main focus of this conference was about the opportunities and challenges of social business enterprises in Albania. In his speech, the Rector of the University of Tirana underlined the important role that the university has in the transformation of the social and economic environment of the country, stressing that "acquainting students with the idea of ​​social enterprises at the beginning of their university career broadens their horizons career and allows them to understand the idea that work is not simply conceived as a living wage. She reminds them that different employers offer different types of employment opportunities. We should not just give students a degree, but also a skill. By concretizing this with social entrepreneurship, it is important for universities to be at the forefront of creating and training young entrepreneurs and the entrepreneurial spirit in them.

Among others Prof. Yunus emphasized that social business, which refers to business that tries to solve social problems, can make a very important contribution to meeting the challenges and addressing the needs of the poorest and neediest sections of Albanian society.
