Farewell, Professor Servetus Pigeon!

Our country lost today one of the important figures of political thought and the academic world, one of its valuable contributors.

Prof. Pëllumbi served for several decades as a lecturer at the University of Tirana and holds the title Professor Emeritus, due to his long contribution not only in the UT auditoriums, but also through his work and studies.

He was a committed politician who stood out as a consensual figure; he held high state positions culminating in the leadership of the Albanian Parliament, but he is also the author of several fundamental publications in the field of political sociology, philosophy, and ethics. His contribution is unique in the analysis of the Albanian transition, a political and social history of Albania.

Prof. Pëllumbi was born on December 14, 1936 in Korça and after returning from his studies in Saint Petersburg, he made a significant contribution to Albanian education, initially at the Pedagogical Institute of Korça and then at the University of Tirana, for three decades.
