Microsoft Teams User Manual

Dear students of the University of Tirana,

First of all, we wish you success for this New Academic Year 2024-2025.

To access the Platform Microsoft Teams, you please refer to the following:

Regarding accessing the Microsoft platform, for distance learning, please see the manual in the link Microsoft office 365 for student (Click here).

Also below you will find some brief information you may need to access your email address,

 Access credentials for students, divided by Faculties, are as follows: 

 User:        

Password: ****** (The password for each user has been sent to your personal addresses). 

  1. Log in with the provided credentials (e.g. if you are a student of the Faculty of Law) name_surname.fdstudent@unitir.edu.al
  2. Password has policies: have a minimum of 8 characters. (Uppercase, lowercase letters, numbers and punctuation.)
  3. After changing the password, please be careful to remember the new password you set, as reset is not allowed and is only done by IT.

Please be careful that in your data "name_surname” to be used lowercaseletters and replace characters "ë" with "e" and "ç" with "c".

Communication through electronic mail with the domain name unitir.edu.al (email), or alternative forms made available by the University of Tirana refers to legal acts, the UT Statute, Regulations and the Code of Ethics. Any action or inaction contrary to these acts, in case it does not constitute a criminal offense, is punished with disciplinary measures according to the provisions in the legislation in force. 

Through the web interface located at the above-mentioned address, or through the corresponding application with identical functionalities which can be downloaded within the web interface after logging in to the platform, and further installed on the computer unit.  

The platform can also be accessed by installing the named application TEAMS nga MICROSOFT, ready for android or IOS devices via play store or app store. 

After logging into the platform for the first time, you must change your password by customizing it. Also, please change the password at the time of logging in as a mandatory step, we suggest that the pass has at least 8 characters. (Uppercase, lowercase letters, numbers and punctuation.)

Note:

The Academic Senate of the University of Tirana in its meeting dated 21/10/2020 has made the decision for the unified use of the digital distance learning system, the Microsoft Teams platform. The development of the distance learning process is conditioned by the Covid-19 virus.

Tool Microsoft Office 365 education platform, has found use at the University of Tirana and has been configured within an addition and amendment of Decision no. 762, dated 1.9.2010, of the Council of Ministers, "For the approval of the renewed agreement, between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the company "Microsoft Corporation"", for the strategic partnership project in the field of information technology", since 2013. The University of Tirana uses all Microsoft education products, but not only by being equipped with Microsft from AKSHI (National Agency of Innovation Society).

During 2020 and following, the University of Tirana has benefited from all services Microsoft Education Cloud according to the agreement Microsoft Online Subscription Agreement.

Period of storage of data on the platform Microsoft Office 365.edu it is defined according to policies and rules DPA, GDPR, which is for the protection and possibility of protection of rights and personal data within the European Union. In cases where a recording occurs, it is stored in the Cloud of the Microsoft office 365 education platform until 21 calendar days and then self-destructs as a GDPR obligation implemented by Microsoft.

Tool Microsoft Office 365 education, keeps statistical reports of teaching performance for a period of 90 days (audit log 7 days) and then self-destruct (based on the data protection policies within the European Union GDPR established by Microsoft.)

Referred to the Higher Education Law, chapter IX, Students and data on students; University of Tirana in accordance with point 1, Student status is acquired by his registration in an institution of higher education. This status is lost upon receipt of the relevant diploma or certificate, as well as in the case of de-registration of the student from that institution. With the loss of the student status, as well as the completion of the goal of teaching online communication, UT takes measures to delete the addresses created and after this process (of deletion) after 30 calendar days they self-destruct.
