Two police leaders, who have followed the "Executive Master in Criminology" program at the Faculty of Law, University of Tirana, have been awarded medals for the results they have achieved.
Oliger Torba, acting Deputy Director for Crime Investigation at the Fier Local Police Directorate, received the "Gold Medal" certificate, while Altin Mena, currently Director of the Lezha Local Police Directorate, received the "Excellent Student" certificate.
The Director General of the State Police, Ilir Proda, praised his colleagues for the results and efforts of many other colleagues who, in addition to the Security Academy, deepen their professional training.
In a ceremony organized at the premises of the General Directorate of the State Police, the Rector of the University of Tirana, Prof. Dr. Artan Hoxha, also participated, who, together with the head of the Albanian police, presented certificates to police officers who graduated from the "Executive Master in Criminology" program.
The rector of the University of Tirana praised the role of education as a bridge connecting the entire society. "Two police officers who have attended the program, one was awarded a gold medal, the other was awarded a silver medal in the Master's degree in Criminology. They do themselves honor, they do the institution and the State Police honor, but at the same time they also do the University of Tirana honor - emphasized the rector of the University of Tirana. - What I want to tell you as an old employee in justice and a new one in education, is to maintain your uniform with dignity, do your duty properly and have respect even when it is not visible. Because people, when they are in need, say "policeman", they cursed you two minutes ago, but this is the function you have".
Chief Commissioner Oliger Torba and Director Altin Mena expressed their gratitude to the leaders of the State Police and the University of Tirana for the space and support given to police members to continue their education and increase their professional level.
