On the membership as a "Collaborating Institution" of the University of Tirana in the CMS - CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) collaboration

With the initiative of the Department of Physics, Faculty of Natural Sciences and support from the Albanian-American Development Fund (AADF) through Research Expertise from the Academic Diaspora Fellowship Program (READ), the University of Tirana and the Polytechnic of Tirana applied to joined the CMS collaboration, part of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), as a "Collaborating Institution". After the successful presentation of the working group, headed by Prof. Assoc. Dr. Rudina Osmanaj and Dr. Ilirjan Margjeka, on 22.09.2023 before the management board of the CMS experiment, and voting by him and the participating countries on 4.12.2023, Albania, represented by the two above-mentioned institutions, was accepted as a "Collaborating Institution" in CMS, a collaboration that which will strengthen the foundations of scientific research in high energy physics in Albania
