The University of Tirana has signed a cooperation agreement with the State Authority for Geospatial Information (ASIG), with the aim of identifying, promoting, supporting and collaborating on projects of mutual interest to both parties, in the field of geoinformation.

 

The agreement submitted for approval aims to institutionalize the cooperation relationship between UT and ASIG regarding the increase of human capacities through the preparation of new specialists in accordance with the country's development priorities, conducting research expertise and integrating teaching with scientific research as well as the use of technology in the field of geoinformation.

 

This agreement was signed in the presence of the Department of Geography, at the Faculty of History and Philology, by the Rector of UT, Prof. Dr. Artan Hoxha and the General Director of ASIG, Ms. Vilma Tomço.

 

ASIG is a public institution established in 2012 for the organization and functioning of the national geospatial information infrastructure in the Republic of Albania, whose mission is to create Albania's geospatial infrastructure according to European standards.
