Dear professors and staff members of the University of Tirana,
Dear students,
The beginning of the new academic year at the University of Tirana marks not only a new chapter for thousands of young people joining our community, but also the continuation of a shared journey for knowledge, science, and society.
It is a special emotion, but also a responsibility, to welcome the students who sit in our auditoriums for the first time this year. I congratulate you on your important choice to study at the largest public university in the country, with the longest academic tradition and high quality standards.
The University of Tirana is not only a place of study, but also a space that promotes innovation, critical thinking, the spirit of cooperation, human values, and personal development, making you part of a vibrant and dynamic community.
The University of Tirana, this year, is more open and international than ever. With 165 study programs, which are the choice of over 60% of high school graduates nationwide; with 175 cooperation agreements, 135 Erasmus+ partners, 8 double degrees with prominent international universities; with 19 programs in foreign languages, 160 national and international projects and 13 academic networks, it proves that it is prepared and contributes to the challenges that Albanian society is going through, as well as being closely connected to global developments.
Dear students, this is the time to prepare for your social and professional development. Be active, inquisitive and engaged! We, the dedicated faculty and staff of the University of Tirana, will always be by your side to support you in every step of this journey. Together, we will continue to advance the University of Tirana as a model of excellence and quality in higher education.
We encourage high school graduates who have applied to University of Tirana programs, but have not yet registered, to do so as soon as possible and not risk the opportunity to study at our university.
Good luck and a happy academic year to everyone!
Rector of the University of Tirana
Prof. Dr. Artan HOXHA
