Internationalization, to attract students from the region and diaspora!
The series of introductory meetings of the platform "For a
European and comprehensive university", he continued with the Institute of European Studies. In a meeting with the staff of this institute, as a constituent unit of the University of Tirana, the rector Prof. Dr. Artan Hoxha stated that the work balance of four years shows how we have worked responsibly.
He assessed that ISE has made qualitative changes in these 4 years, but emphasized that we should have more students and inter-institutional cooperation, with the objective of organizing in a form that complies with the law.
Referring to the increase in the academic standard, the rector emphasized some of the achievements:
▫️Elaboration of student programs;
▫️Study programs have been repaired;
▫️50% of the curriculum has been revised;
▫️Programs in foreign languages have been opened and are being opened.
In this context, he emphasized that ISE should increase the number of programs in English.
In the second term, Rector Hoxha emphasized the need to preserve the stability and continuity of the University's work, in order to move towards strengthening and deepening the internationalization process.
"We have something to say in this direction. Today they want us as partners in the world. We are appreciated for our seriousness and this increases our responsibility. In the future, we need to attract students from the region and the diaspora. For this reason, more work should be done to identify and promote all the achieved indicators" - stressed the rector.
He focused on improving the salary system of academic and assistant academic staff and the role of the Rectors' Conference as a productive body that influences state policies and
representative of higher education institutions forall state structures.
