ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF TIRANA

The University of Tirana announces that the news given this afternoon in some media that "...the deadline for registering candidates for the Rector's governing authority and members of the Academic Senate of UT has officially closed". it is not true at all.

University of Tirana announces that the Institutional Election Commission (IEC) of UT, that will administer the entire electoral process in UT, has not been created yet.

After the issuance of Order no. 6 dated 30.06.2020 of the Rector of UT, "For the announcement of the day of the beginning of the election process and the date determined by the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, for the election of the governing authorities and the Academic Senate, of UT". the relevant structures and bodies are proceeding for the creation and approval of the UT KIZ, according to the provisions of article 6, point 1 of the UT Election Regulation.  

The University of Tirana asks the media or various online portals, before publishing such news, for this very important institution of higher education in the country, to verify the source and authenticity of the news.
