Rectors' Forum of Southeast Europe and Western Balkans
Rectors' Forum of Southeast Europe and Western Balkans is a regional platform that brings together university rectors and leaders from countries in Southeastern Europe and the Western Balkans. This forum has strengthened academic, scientific and institutional cooperation in the region and enabled the addressing of common challenges in higher education.
The main objectives of the Rectors' Forum of Southeast Europe and Western Balkans are:
- Promoting inter-university cooperation and the exchange of best practices;
- Promoting the mobility of students, lecturers and academic and administrative staff;
- Strengthening regional cooperation in research projects and scientific initiatives;
- Supporting the development of higher education policies that contribute to regional and European integration;
- Creating a dialogue platform for university leaders to address the challenges and opportunities of higher education in the region.
The University of Tirana is an active part of the Forum, participating in meetings, projects and initiatives aimed at strengthening regional and inter-university cooperation. This commitment has also brought about the inclusion of the UT in RECAS (Regional Centre for Adult Education in Southeast Europe) and has enabled the establishment of the Center for Advanced Postdoctoral Studies at the Rectorate of the University of Tirana, a structure that aims to support the academic and professional development of postdoctoral researchers and to strengthen inter-university and international cooperation.
