Rector of the University of Tirana, Prof. Dr. Mynyr Koni, participated and welcomed the opening of the international scientific conference ICAP 2019 organized by the Department of Physics at the Faculty of Natural Sciences on Thursday 20.11.2019.

In his speech, the Rector of UT said that he saw the purpose of the ICAP Physics Conference as an attempt to bring together the community of scientists, professionals, and why not students for the presentation of their new achievements and the sharing of ideas related to science in general and physics in particular.

He added that this conference hopes to contribute to the increase of knowledge and experiences of different countries so that the best experiences can be applied to the University of Tirana. Consequently, not only the faculty, but also the students will be the main recipients of benefits from such scientific conferences to increase their level of knowledge and open new horizons for the future.

In this context, Prof. Koni asked for more commitment from the physics department staff to create new modules and curricula that will best suit the demands of the times and the market in general.

At the end of his speech, the Rector of UT expressed his belief that this conference will be successful and thanked the academic staff and students of the physics department as well as professors from Kosovo, North Macedonia, America, Italy, France and Greece.

The ICAP 2019 conference is held to cover a wide range of aspects from fundamental to practical applications of physics and here it is worth mentioning areas such as: atmospheric physics, computational physics, renewable energies, biophysics, materials physics, complex systems, astrophysics, meteorology and of course physics teaching.
