On October 16, 2020, This title was given with the motivation "For an outstanding contribution to the strengthening of relations between the two countries in the field of education and culture, to the wide involvement of the academic staff and students of the University of Tirana in the programs of the Department of State with a high impact on academic and professional training, to the strengthening of the role of women in society as well as in the preservation of cultural heritage in Albania".

Rector of UT, Prof. Dr. Artan Hoxha appreciated the contribution of Mrs. Marie Royce in increasing opportunities for the involvement of students and professionals from Albania in various State Department programs as an excellent opportunity for their professional development and the exchange of educational experiences between Albania and the US.

Ms. Royce expressed that she felt honored to be the 3rd American to receive this high title from the University of Tirana and emphasized that cooperation in the field of education with Albania will continue to be in the focus of her work.
