To access your unitir.edu.al account, you must first create an account with multi-factor authentication (MFA), and then connect this account to the application you use to access your University of Tirana email (e.g. Outlook, Apple Mail, etc.).”
1.1. Activation and login
- Step 1: Log in to the Microsoft 365 portal: https://portal.office.com
or https://outlook.office.com with the institutional address @unitir.edu.al and the password you received from IT. - Enter the email account provided by the University of Tirana.
- Enter the password provided by the University of Tirana.
- Download the app by selecting a) download, or b) scanning the barcode:
a. Select Mobile App.
b. Receive verification notifications.”
- A pop-up window will appear with instructions to download the Microsoft Authenticator app from the App Store (iOS/Android/Windows).
a. After downloading the Microsoft Authenticator app:
i. Click on the “+” sign in the upper right corner of the application.
ii. Select “Work or School account”.
iii. Select "Scan QR Code".
- Use the app to scan the QR code that appears on the screen.
If you cannot scan the QR code, you can use the link displayed on the screen and enter the code that appears there.
- Click “Next” after you have scanned the QR code and verified your identity in the Microsoft Authenticator app.
- Once verified, you will see your alumni email account in the Microsoft Authenticator app.
- You will be asked to provide your phone number as a second method of verification, in case you lose access to the mobile app.
