Abstract
This dissertation addresses the managerial strategies of banks in Albania to maintain operational sustainability during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. Through a combined qualitative and quantitative approach, this study explores the ways in which banks have coped with the challenges caused by the pandemic, including risk management, digitalization and restructuring of operations. The analysis focuses on the financial performance of banks through return on equity (ROE), as well as the management of human resources and technology in this period of crisis. The results show that proactive and innovative strategies, followed by banks, have played a key role in maintaining operational stability and in coping with future crises. The study also includes an analysis of the regulatory framework and its impact on banking sustainability. Finally, the paper provides clear recommendations for improving the operational sustainability of the banking sector in the event of similar crises in the future.

Abstract
This dissertation explores the managerial strategies employed by banks in Albania to maintain operational resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through a mixed-method approach combining both qualitative and quantitative analysis, the study investigates how banks navigated the challenges posed by the pandemic, including risk management, digitalization, and the restructuring of operations. The analysis focuses on the financial performance of banks, particularly through the lens of Return on Equity (ROE), as well as the management of human resources and technology during this crisis. The findings reveal that proactive and innovative strategies adopted by banks played a crucial role in maintaining operational stability and preparing for future crises. The study also examines the regulatory framework and its impact on banking resilience. Ultimately, the research provides clear recommendations for enhancing the operational resilience of the banking sector in the face of similar crises in the future.
