Today, on 03.06.2021, the Academic Senate of the University of Tirana honored with the title "Doctor Honoris Causa" Prof. Evelyne Lande, Professor at the University of Poitiers, France with the motivation "Outstanding personality of the science of finance and accounting, with special contributions in establishing and deepening the cooperation between the University of Tirana and the University of Poitiers, France, as well as co-author and director of several successful joint European projects in the field of teaching and scientific research".
Awarding the title "Doctor Honoris Causa" to Mrs. Lande came as a proposal of the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Economics, as an assessment of her contribution over a period of almost 20 years in establishing and consolidating the cooperation between the University of Tirana and the University of Poitiers.
During these years of cooperation between the two universities, 122 Albanian students have pursued their studies at the University of Poitiers and another 21 students in the fields of Economics and Law from the University of Tirana are expected to start at the University of Poitiers in the next academic year. In terms of incoming mobilities, 18 French students have come to Albania, 8 of whom are currently at the University of Tirana. Also thanks to this long-term cooperation, 32 Albanian professors and 26 French professors, who have contributed to the development of new projects at the University of Tirana, have had the opportunity to make reciprocal visits.
In his speech, the Rector, Prof. Dr. Artan Hoxha, appreciated the dedication of Ms. Lande in the establishment and sustainable development of relations between the two universities. As Rector of the University, he emphasized the commitment and support for every project and possibility of cooperation in the future.
Dean of the Faculty of Economics Prof. Dr. Dhori Kule, in his review, emphasized the extremely important role in connecting and consolidating the cooperation relations between the University of Poitiers and the University of Tirana for the construction of a functional, strategic, long-term and higher level partnership.
Prof. Dr. Sheriff Bundo in his review, in addition to the evaluation and thanks for the contribution of Ms. Lande expressed his commitment to the continuation of this fruitful cooperation and how this cooperation can serve as a model of success with other international partners in the future.
Ms. Lande expressed that she felt honored for this high title from the University of Tirana and emphasized her willingness to continue this cooperation and expand it even further in the future. As Ambassador of the University of Tirana to the University of Poitiers, Professor Lande expressed her commitment and willingness to further intensify cooperation in the future in all areas of common interest.
