A meeting was held at the University of Tirana with senior representatives of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) and the Albanian University Sports Federation (FSHSU), as part of preparations for the organization of the European University Combat Sports Championships, to be held in Tirana on September 7–12, 2026.

 

The meeting was attended by the Rector of the University of Tirana, Prof. Dr. Artan Hoxha, the Director of the Directorate of Scientific Research, Projects and Foreign Relations, Dr. Erida Elmazi, as well as the President of FSHSU, Mr. Bensik Veliu, along with two professors from the Department of Physical Education and University Sports, UT.

 

From the EUSA side, Mr. Haris Pavletic, President of EUSA, Mr. Francis Cirianni, Financier and Mr. Matjaz Pecovnik, Secretary General / CEO of EUSA were present.

 

The championship will welcome around 1500 student competitors and officials from over 400 European universities, who will compete in four disciplines: judo, karate, taekwondo and kickboxing.

 

 Tirana will return to the center of European university sports for 2026!
