CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
For Financing Visits of Foreign Lecturers and Interns to Higher Education Institutions in Lithuania for the Year 2025.
Kaunas University of Applied Sciences, Lithuania, announces that Higher Education Institutions in Lithuania will apply for funding for visits of qualified lecturers and interns from abroad, who will contribute to study programs for the academic year 2025.
This program aims to bring international experience, practical knowledge and benefits to students and staff of higher education institutions.
Purpose of Funding
The funding is dedicated to supporting foreign lecturers and interns who will contribute to the study programs of Lithuanian higher education institutions. These visits aim to reinforce the quality of teaching and increase opportunities for international cooperation.
Eligible Participants
· Qualified lecturers from higher education and research institutions outside Lithuania with the title of Prof. Dr. and Prof. Assoc. Dr. who have outstanding experience in relevant fields of study. (Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Marketing, Data Sciences, Business Data Analytics, Digital Innovations, Applied Communication in Public Relations).
Eligibility Criteria and Priorities
Applications for funding must meet the following criteria and priority requirements:
· Duration of Visit: Funded visits must last from 10 to 15 days of active work with students. In special cases and when the application is justified, the visit may be shorter, but not less than 5 working days.
· Daily Working Hours: Each day of the visit must include at least 2 working hours of direct contact with students. Remote work is allowed only for lecturers from Ukraine, in case they are impossible to travel due to extraordinary circumstances in their country.
· Additional Activities: Lecturers are encouraged to develop additional activities during the visit, such as public lectures, scientific research, training for academic and administrative staff. These activities are important for the evaluation of the application.
· Financial Support of the Host Institution: The host institution must contribute at least 30% of the necessary funds to cover the general expenses of the visit.
Selection Criteria
Applications will be evaluated by a committee of experts based on:
· The justification and need for the visit,
· Benefits for students and the institution of higher education,
· The importance of the subject or module taught by the foreign lecturer as part of the study program,
· Pedagogical or practical experience of the foreign lecturer,
· Additional activities which may include public lectures, research work, and training.
Applications will be ranked based on the quality assessment received, and a funding list will be created. In case of unused funds, funding of applications on the reserve list will be considered. Applications that fail to meet half of the possible points for the purpose and benefit of the visit will not be funded.
Funding Amount
The daily amount per lecture is defined as follows:
· 440 Euro per day of lecture for lecturers who meet the criteria for the position of professor.
· 330 Euro per day of lecture for lecturers who meet the criteria for the position of assistant professor.
· 165 Euro per day of lecture for lecturers who meet the criteria for the positions of assistant, junior lecturer, or senior lecturer.
In the case of lecturers traveling from countries more than 5,000 kilometers from Vilnius, an additional rate of 1.5 will be applied to their funding.
Funding includes: travel expenses, accommodation and honoraria for lectures.
Deadlines and Application Procedure
· Application deadline: November 29, 2024, 12:00 p.m.
· All applicants will be informed of the selection results by the end of January 2025.
