Tirana - Zadar, the universities establish the first bridge of cooperation
The University of Tirana and the University of Zadar in Croatia will cooperate with each other in a number of fields, in the service of quality education of students, scientific research and the qualification of academic staff. This was guaranteed by an agreement signed by the Rector of the University of Tirana Prof. Dr. Artan Hoxha and the Rector of the University of Zadar, Croatia, Prof. Dr. Sc. Dijana Vican.
The fields in which the two universities will cooperate are:
1. Exchange of students and academic personnel;
2. Proposals for joint scientific and research projects;
3. Exchange of publications and scientific information;
4. Joint organization of scientific conferences
5. Exchange of personnel (administrative, library, services...)
6. Creation of joint/dual study programs.
Prof. Dr. During this meeting, Artan Hoxha states that Croatia is a friendly country of Albania, for this reason there is a desire from both sides for deepening cooperation, where both universities have a responsibility to create better conditions for the young generation, in order for them to respond to the challenges of the time.
Meanwhile, the Rectory Prof. Dr. Sc. Dijana Vican emphasized that as part of the EU-CONEXUS alliance of European universities, we closely cooperate with partners from EU countries, but we are not limited to that, we want to help you to join the alliance of EU as soon as possible. Also she and representatives of the University of Zadar introduced the guests to the history of higher education in Zadar. She stated that an important role was played by the first rector of this institution in 1369, Gjon Durrsaku, originally from the city of Durrës. This institution was later named the University of Zara, she said. Today, this institution is a modern university, the largest integrated one in Croatia, and its programs offer the necessary competences in modern society, emphasized the Vican Rectory.
Present at this meeting were deputy. Rector of the University of Zadar, Prof. Ph.D. Nedjeljke Bali? Niži? and Prof. Ph.D. Slaven Zjaliq, as well as the ambassador of Albania in the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Riza Poda, and the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Albania for Zadar, Mr. Anton Dedaj, as well as the deans of the Faculties from both universities.
