Good luck students of the University of Tirana
The University of Tirana opened the auditoriums for over 20,000 of its students, of which 3381 are sitting in these auditoriums for the first time. The Rector of UT, the Deans of the Faculties and the Minister of Education, congratulated the students of UT and all Albanian students, from a meeting with the new students of the Faculty of Economics, which was held in the "Liria" hall in the Student City.
"To all of you who have chosen the University of Tirana, I assure you that you have made the right choice. We are not simply the biggest university, but the best university in the country and with the most successful degree - stated in his speech the Rector of UT, Prof. Dr. Artan Hoxha.
Rector Hoxha highlighted the achievements in the internationalization process that UT has marked. "UT offers, among other things, 16 study programs in English in the Bachelor and Master cycle approved by MAS. This year for the first time, UT issued the diploma in English to bachelor students who completed their studies. Also, 4 joint programs with other European universities with double degrees are offered, creating spaces for students to expand their knowledge and greater opportunities for their specialization" - he emphasized.
Prof. Dr. Dhori Kule, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, exposed the standards that this faculty has today, with a staff of qualified lecturers with scientific titles and degrees, as well as active in the field of scientific research. This is a guarantee - said Pro.Kule - to attract in this field the students of this faculty who will be passionate about study and scientific research.
The Minister of Education Ogerta Manastirliu, while evaluating the University of Tirana, spoke about a Strategic Document for Higher Education, on which the guiding policies for Albanian higher education will be based in the future, which should be long-term policies. She emphasized the need to profile Albanian universities, referring to the demands of the time and the labor market, to prepare professionals in the areas where the national economy and society need it the most.
Also, the minister emphasized internationalization as an important pillar to increase the standards of higher education at the international level.
"Opening or shrinking existing programs in universities - said Minister Manastirliu, should be done on the basis of in-depth studies, long-term forecasts and not as forced choices of the moment. We will continue to support excellent students with scholarships and the priority programs that the government has determined, but we will also orient young people towards profiles where the market needs more and that dictate the new realities of economic and social development".
