UNICA
UNICA (Network of Universities from the Capitals of Europe) is a network of public universities based in European capitals. It was created to strengthen ties between member universities and increase their role in the educational, scientific and social development of Europe. The network brings together universities from different capitals, which share common challenges and great potential for cooperation.
The main objectives of UNICA are:
- Promoting academic, research and cultural cooperation between member universities;
- Strengthening the role of capital city universities in European processes of higher education and scientific research;
- Exchange of best practices in the areas of teaching, university management and innovation;
- Promoting mobility and internationalization of students, academic and administrative staff;
- Contribution to the development of educational and research policies at national and European level.
The University of Tirana is part of the UNICA network, actively participating in activities, projects and initiatives aimed at strengthening international cooperation and the exchange of academic experiences. Through this network, UT increases its visibility in the European arena, strengthens institutional capacities and creates new opportunities for students and academic staff.
Students of the University of Tirana participated in the 10th UNICA Student Conference, with the theme: "Transforming Your University in the post COVID-19 age", organized by NOVA University Lisbon, on July 18 - 21, 2021, contributing to international discussions and the exchange of best practices in higher education.
