On June 11, 2024, the Rector of the University of Tirana, Prof. Dr. Artan Hoxha, led an academic delegation on an official visit to the Center for Language Exchange and Cooperation in China, in the context of strengthening international cooperation and promoting linguistic and cultural exchanges between Albania and China.

The delegation was also accompanied on this visit by the Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to China, Mr. Riza Poda. During the meeting, the delegation was received by Mr. Hu Zhiping, Deputy Director of the Center for Language Exchange and Cooperation, with whom constructive talks were held about the development of Chinese language teaching in Albania, the role of the Confucius Institute at the University of Tirana and opportunities for expanding cooperation in the field of higher education.

Both sides expressed their mutual willingness to strengthen the existing partnership and build a broader and more functional platform for cultural and academic exchange for Albanian and Chinese youth. The importance of mutual support in projects that promote interculturalism, foreign language learning and the creation of new educational opportunities was also emphasized.

At the end of the meeting, the University of Tirana and the Center for Language Exchange and Cooperation signed the agreement for “Cooperation in Building the Chinese Intelligent Classroom” at the premises of the Confucius Institute at the University of Tirana. This agreement aims to modernize the process of teaching Chinese, through the use of new technologies and advanced didactic resources, as well as to create a more interactive and innovative environment for Albanian students.

The visit constitutes an important step in deepening academic relations between the University of Tirana and Chinese educational institutions, confirming the joint commitment to the development of quality education and international exchanges.
