Rector of the University of Tirana Prof. Dr. Artan Hoxha signed a cooperation agreement with the Rector of the Academy of Albanian Studies, Prof. Dr. Luan Perzhita in the field of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Both parties undertake to take into consideration the needs of the country and the common ones during their cooperation, in order to benefit from the development and educational and scientific exchange, training/educational activities of the academic staff and joint development projects, studies in the field of linguistics and literature, albanology, archeology, anthropology, etc.

The main directions of this cooperation will be:

1. Cooperation in the fields of scientific research in accordance with the field of activity that the institutions currently develop.

2. Coordination of research policies, research, supporting studies, in new fields of development such as Albanian sciences, linguistics, literature, history, archeology, etc.

3. Development of joint programs and scientific research.

4. Exchange of academic personnel for academic, research-scientific activities, professional practices, and joint trainings.

5. Mobility of academic staff, researchers and students in the framework of scientific research activities in Albanian sciences.

6. Drafting and mutual support, realization of joint research and training projects, in the above-mentioned fields.

7. Encouraging, supporting and carrying out other scientific activities (conferences, seminars and publications) in areas of mutual interest.

8. Making available the respective infrastructure, in function of academic and scientific activities, the exchange of scientific literature that the parties have, access to archives, libraries, laboratories, etc.

9. Exchange of experience related to institutional management and other aspects of an administrative nature

Cooperation will be supported on the basis of democratic principles and in accordance with university autonomy and academic freedom of both parties.
