The two largest universities in Albania and the Czech Republic have reached a cooperation agreement between them in order to further develop and strengthen academic relations between the two universities.
Rector of the University of Tirana Prof. Dr. Mynyr Koni received his counterpart from Charles University in Prague, Prof. Tomas Zima.
During the discussions, which preceded the signing of the agreement, the two rectors discussed a number of issues on which the two universities can increase cooperation between them. This agreement includes cooperation in all areas of common interest to both parties, exchange of academic staff and students, etc.
The participants expressed their appreciation for the implementation of this important agreement between the two universities. One of the priorities of the University of Tirana is the further strengthening of its portfolio of collaborations. Through international cooperation, as a key part of the internationalization strategy, the University of Tirana aims to establish strong cooperation bridges with leading universities in the region, Europe and beyond.
Among others, Prof. Zima informed the Rector of the University of Tirana that the interest of Czech students to study the Albanian language and culture has increased, and for this, Charles University had opened the Albanian language and culture program. This significant and important initiative will serve to bring the peoples and cultures of the two countries closer together. On his part, Prof. Koni expressed his personal and institutional support for Czech students of the Albanian language at Charles University. This is an important step on the way to genuine and long-term cooperation for the future.
