University of Tirana provides trial access to ScienceDirect Freedom Collection
University of Tirana, in collaboration with Elsevier, has provided free trial access for a period of 4 (four) months to the international platform ScienceDirect Freedom Collection.
The ScienceDirect Freedom Collection is one of the largest collections of scientific literature internationally, providing access to thousands of full-text scientific journals and millions of academic articles.
This platform supports the teaching process, scientific research, the preparation of diploma and doctoral theses, as well as the development of scientific publications with international impact.
How to access the platform?
Connect your device to the University of Tirana institutional network in any main unit, faculty or institute.

If you are connected to the institutional network, the system will automatically recognize you as an authorized user.
For a more advanced experience, it is recommended to create a personal account with an official email address. @unitir.edu.al.
Institutional Email Remote Access (Email Domain Remote Access)
This method allows you to access Elsevier resources from anywhere — home, traveling, etc. — using just your official email address with the domain. @unitir.edu.al
Steps to log in:
- Go to the resource page you want to access, e.g. www.sciencedirect.com.
- Click the “Sign in” or “Remote Access” button (usually at the top of the page, on the right).
- When prompted for your email, enter your institutional address, e.g.: [email protected]
- Click “Continue” or “Next”.
- Only on first login: a one-time passcode will be sent to your institutional email.
- Open your inbox, find the email from Elsevier, and copy the code.
- Enter the code on the page where you are prompted and confirm.
- After verifying your email, you will have full access to subscribed content from the University of Tirana.
- On future logins, simply enter your institutional email — usually the code is not required again (except in special cases, such as changing device/browser).
