Today, the University of Tirana celebrates its 65th anniversary, as the first University in the Republic of Albania.

The higher institutes created during the years 1946 - 1956 were the basis for the creation of the University of Tirana with 3.600 students, about 300 lecturers and 15 different specialties.

Over the years, UT expanded with the creation of faculties, which contributed to the development of the country by accompanying it in all the achievements and challenges that our country has gone through.

In its history, UT has formed generations of specialists, personalities and prominent figures of intellectual and academic thought with essential contributions to science, economy and society.

As we stand in this moment, of joy and memories of years of growth and development, we are filled with pride and a sense of true accomplishment!

The University of Tirana stands at the head of higher education in the country, among the multidisciplinary, quality educational programs created to empower this nation, scientific research and innovation.

The University of Tirana today expresses its heartfelt thanks to the students and parents, to all the dedicated staff who have stood firm with us in the creation of this national center of research, teaching and learning, to the many benefactors and supporters!
