University of Tirana expands access to international scientific resources through Elsevier platforms
The University of Tirana, in collaboration with Elsevier, has activated remote access to scientific platforms ScienceDirect, Scopus and Scopus AI, offering new opportunities for academic staff, researchers, doctoral candidates and students to utilize the most advanced sources of international scientific information.
In addition to access through the institutional IPs of the University of Tirana, users can also use these platforms remotely, identifying themselves with their official institutional address. @unitir.edu.al, regardless of their location and without being connected to the university's institutional network.
How to enable remote access?
To use the service, follow these steps:

Visit the relevant platform:
- Science Direct: https://www.sciencedirect.com
- Scopus: https://www.scopus.com
- Select the option. Sign In / Register.
- Register or log in using your official institutional email address. @unitir.edu.al.
- During your first login, Elsevier will send a one-time verification code (One-Time Passcode).
- After verifying your email address, your account will be linked to the University of Tirana's institutional subscription and you will be able to access scientific resources from any location.
Benefits of creating a personal Elsevier account
Through a personal account, users can access additional functionalities, such as:
- saving searches (Saved Searches);
- creating automatic notifications (Alerts) for new publications;
- citation monitoring;
- personalization of author profile and bibliometric analyses;
- using advanced Scopus AI functionalities.
