Rector of the University of Tirana, Prof.Dr. Artan Hoxha presented the platform "For a European and comprehensive university", also at the Faculty of Natural Sciences. During a conversation with academic staff and students, he emphasized that consistency and stability are the keys, not only to complete the work started but also to raise the University of Tirana to higher levels. He reiterated the achievements of UT in the last four years, including the accreditation with maximum rating, for 6 (six) years, reflecting with his decision the values and standards of our university.
The evaluation of FSHN programs has been at the level of excellence (10 study programs, Bachelor).
The number of new programs has increased by 10%.
The Faculty of Natural Sciences has:
▫️open 3 new programs
▫️improved 31 programs under 20%
In terms of scientific research, in 2021 the UT created a special fund for the support of scientific researchers.
• 2021-2023, 35 projects were financed
• 7 projects won by FSHN
• with the inclusion of second and third cycle students
In the framework of internationalization, the Faculty of Natural Sciences has achieved:
▫️131 bilateral agreements
▫️93 agreements related to professional practices
▫️190 interinstitutional agreements Eramus +
During the discussion, for future challenges, it was proposed:
▫️ Licensing of the profession of Biologist.
▫️Opening of new programs in the Department of Physics.
▫️Mandatory presence of some natural science profiles in commercial companies and certain institutions.
▫️Legal change to enable the issuance of the "Environmental Specialist" certificate also by FSHN.
▫️ Facilitation of public procurement procedures for HEIs.
▫️Development strategy of some study programs with national priority and teaching.
▫️More attention to infrastructure and scientific research, etc.
