UT-Poitiers, more student and professorship exchanges

 

Rector of the University of Tirana, Prof. Dr. Artan Hoxha hosted a delegation from the public university of Poitiers in France.

UT and the University of Poitiers have a cooperation agreement since 2002 and have a rich history of exchanges:

-Many Albanian students have completed their studies at this university, supported by scholarships from the French embassy in Tirana. Meanwhile, after the 2019-2020 academic year and beyond, students' studies have been mainly financed by the Erasmus+ KA107 program, but without excluding the support from the embassy with an average of two to four scholarships each year.

•Exchanges carried out within the Erasmus+ KA1 Program with the University of Tirana:

Student exchanges: from UT to Poitiers – 64 exchanges (9 of which are granted by the Embassy) and 25 more exchanges are expected to be realized in the academic year 2023-2024;

From Poitiers to UT – 22 exchanges and another 16 exchanges are expected to be realized in the academic year 2023-2024;

Personnel exchanges: from UT to Poitiers – 49 exchanges and another 24 exchanges are expected to be carried out in the academic year 2023-2024;

From Poitiers to UT – 31 exchanges and another 22 exchanges are expected to be realized in the academic year 2023-2024.

In the framework of the internationalization process, the University of Tirana creates more space for foreign students who want to complete additional studies, research or partial studies within the exchange programs. 

The representatives of both universities shared the same opinion about the need to increase cooperation to increase the intensity of mutual studies, including students and lecturers.

Poitiers is among the oldest universities in Europe. It was founded in 1431.
