On March 27 - April 2, 2015 in Vienna, the XXII competition was organized Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, in which the University of Tirana, Faculty of Justice was represented by a group of six students, Gëzim Spahiu, Sonila Zela, Sara Zekaj, Zaim Lakti, Xhuljana Mucaj and Klaus Xhaxhiu, accompanied by the lecturers who attended their training, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Flutura Kola Tafaj and Silvana Cinari, MA.

The VIS Moot has been organized since 1993 and is attended by law students from the most prestigious Universities around the world. Its purpose is to promote the study of international commercial law and arbitration for the resolution of international commercial disputes and to train future lawyers regarding alternative dispute resolution methods. The subject of the trial is a dispute arising from a sales contract between persons from two different countries, parties to the Convention on the International Sale of Goods (CISG), which has been ratified by the Republic of Albania with Law No. 10 092, dated 09.03.2009.

The University of Tirana, Faculty of Law was represented in this competition, in which 302 Universities from 66 countries of the world participated, for the second year. The universities that the University of Tirana faced were the University of Law (London Moorgate), England; Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, New York; Academic Center of Law & Business, Israel; University of Nice, France.

Out of all the participants, only 64 Universities go to the elimination rounds, from which the winner emerges. The representative team of the University of Tirana failed to pass this stage. However, the experience gained by the students is invaluable. We hope that with dedication and proper support, the University of Tirana, Faculty of Law will turn participation in this extraordinary competition in terms of size and quality into a tradition.
