The overall objective of the K-FORCE project is to contribute to building a sustainable educational foundation in the field of Disaster Risk Management and Fire Safety Engineering in the Western Balkan countries. The project has an interdisciplinary nature, where engineering is the main discipline. Other disciplines that will be addressed in the curricula of the new programs include: environmental protection, architecture and construction, civil defense, fire sciences, climatology, hydrology, seismology and economics. The knowledge gained in the field of Disaster Risk Management and Fire Safety Engineering will provide the basis for building a sustainable society, capable of responding to catastrophic events.
During the project implementation period the K-Force project staff has carried out several activities and study visits to partner countries.
Activities that have respectively been carried out:
K-FORCE project opening meeting and conference on December 12-15 2016;
K-FORCE project management team meeting in Tirana, Albania, on February 23-24 2017;
Study visit and meeting of the K-FORCE project management team at the University of Aalborg (Denmark), on April 25-29, 2017;
Study visit and meeting of the K-FORCE project management team at the Technical University of Denmark (Denmark) and the University of Lund (Sweden), on June 26-29, 2017;
The First International Symposium of the K-Force Project, in Novi Sad (Serbia), on September 14, 2017;
Project management group meeting at the University of Novi Sad and the Technical School of Vocational Studies in Novi Sad (Serbia), on September 15, 2017;
Study visit and project management group metting at the University of Zilina, on January 29 up to February 2, 2018.
Study visit and project management group meeting at the University of Skopje, on July 2 up to July 6, 2018.
The trainings and mobilities for teaching within the framework of the K-Force project.
Within the framework of the project, mobilities were provided for the purpose of teaching and training in partner universities.
Worth mentioning of the above are:
One mobility for teaching at the University of Novi Sad and four 2-week mobility for training, respectively at the universities of Lund, Aalborg, Zilina and Skopje during the 2017-2018 academic year;
Four other mobilities for teaching and two mobilities for training during the 2018-2019 academic year;
Six semester student mobilities during the 2018-2019 academic year at the University of Novi Sad, Serbia;
Eight teaching mobilities from the Partner Universities at the University of Tirana, respectively from the universities of Lund, Aalborg, Zilina, Skopje, Novi Sad, Tuzla, Banka Luka, and the Higher Technical School of Novi Sad.
