The Rector of the UT takes part in the opening of the international scientific conference of physics, ICAP 2019

The Rector of the University of Tirana, Prof Dr Mynyr Koni, took part and commended the opening of the international scientific conference, ICAP 2019, organized by the Department of Physics at the Faculty of Natural Sciences on Thursday, 20 November 2019.

In his speech, the Rector of the UT said that he saw the purpose of the Physics Conference ICAP as an effort to bring the community of scientists, professionals, and students, nearer to the Faculty of Natural Sciences for the presentation of their latest achievements and the sharing of ideas between them related to science in general and physics in particular.

He added that the conference hopes to contribute in the increase of knowledge and experiences of different countries so that best practices are applied at the University of Tirana as well. Furthermore, both professors and students will be the groups that stand more to gain from such scientific conferences to increase their level of knowledge and open new horizons for the future.

In this framework, Professor Koni requested more commitment from the physics department staff to create new modules and academic programmes that will best adapt to the demands of the time and market in general.

At the end of his speech, the Rector of the UT expressed his faith that this conference will be successful and thanked the academic staff and students of the department and physics, as well as professors from Kosovo, North Macedonia, the United States, Italy, France, and Greece.

The ICAP 2019 conference is held in order to cover a wide range of aspects from fundamental to practical applications of physics. In this regard, it is worth mentioning atmospheric physics, computational physics, renewable energies, biophysics, materials’ physics, complex systems, astrophysics, meteorology and, naturally, physics teaching.
