On July 6, 2017, the University of Tirana Rector, Prof. Dr. Mynyr Koni received the University of Trieste Delegation from Italy, led by the Vice-Rector of the latter, Prof. Dr. Renato Gennaro. In this meeting, Prof. Dr. Mynyr Koni was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Shezai Rrokaj, the University of Tirana Vice-Rector and Prof. Dr. Artur Sula, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
Prof. Dr. Mynyr Koni, following a brief description of the university, expressed the wish to further and strengthen relations between the two universities, mentioning student exchange, third-cycle study programs and increased scientific research as areas of collaboration between the two universities, through the organization of joint conferences, academic paper publications, etc.
The Vice-Rector of the University, Prof. Renato Gennaro expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome at the University of Tirana and stated that the meeting would signify a favorable beginning of the collaboration between the two universities.
Prof. Renato Gennaro added that the Italian party was very keen on commencing the collaboration with the University of Tirana, starting with the academic staff and student exchange. Prof. Gennaro stated that the University of Tirana would participate as an Erasmus + Program partner.
Prof. Dr. Shezai Rrokaj, the Vice-Rector of the University of Tirana, stated in his speech that the collaboration with the university would constitute an added value to the University of Tirana and that the collaboration between the two institutions should soon progress toward actual steps.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the representatives of both institutions signed a cooperation agreement that would initiate the real collaboration between the two countries.
