The purpose of this project is to increase the knowledge and capacities of Albanian academia and other actors necessary to effectively support Albania’s accession process ot the EU. Albania is ready to start a transformative journey of accession negotiations, which will require great efforts and inputs by all stakeholders of Albanian society, not only government institutions. Although this process is perceived to be built as a national level exercise managed by central institutions, implications and impact is considerable to all levels and sectors of society. Therefore, the role of academia and all groups is vital to ensure better results as regards benefits and positive impact to Albanian citizens. In this aspect, the project contributes as a facilitator for building and distributing theoretical and practical knowledge regarding the EU accession process.

The general objective is building capacities and communication and dialogue bridges between different groups of society (academia, policymakers and negotiation team members, civil society, stakeholders, etc.) increasing capacities and their knowledge on the process and raising awareness on the main components of the process and some of the best practices on how to move forward together.

By redesigning and adapting Master subjects’ curricula and organizing some thematic workshop seminars with the participation of students, negotiation steam members, experts, notable researchers and other stakeholders, the project aims to achieve more effective inclusion and greater ownership of the process by stakeholders.

The approach will contribute in informing Albanian society on the process and importance of EU values, increased visibility and communication of the EU in the country.
