On May 15, 2019, the University of Tirana Rector, Prof. Dr. Mynyr Koni received professors from the University of Turin in a visit.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Francesco Panero, Prof. Enrico Lusso and Prof. Marco Navarino, Foreign Language and Literature and Modern Culture professors at the University of Turin. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Albana Shijaku, the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
The University of Tirana has established a very successful collaboration with the University of Turin in the framework of the Erasmus+ Program, and today’s meeting aimed at intensifying the relations between both universities. The Italian counterpart proposed the development of a joint program in the second-cycle Master of Science studies in “Language for Tourism and Territory Development”. The Albanian and Italian students that will attend the program will be able to attend one academic year at the University of Tirana and the second year at the University of Turin. At the conclusion of studies, the students will be awarded two diplomas issued by each university respectively.
In his speech, the Rector, Prof. Dr. Mynyr Koni expressed his gratitude to the Italian professors for the establishment and development of a joint Master’s program between the universities and stated his full commitment to realize the proposal as soon as possible. The Rector stated that he would make all efforts possible to carry the project out and that the project would have his full support.
Furthermore, technical issues were also discussed in the meeting, with regard to launching the joint Master’s program.
In view of the excellent collaboration between both universities, the Italian professors extended the invitation of the Rector of the University of Turin for Prof. Dr. Mynyr Koni to conduct an official visit to the University and Rector Koni gladly accepted the invitation.
