On 06.03.2021 the Academic Senate of the University of Tirana honored Prof. Evelyne Lande, professor at the University of Poitiers, France as "Doctor Honoris Causa" with the motivation of an "Outstanding personality of finance and accounting, with special contributions to the establishment and deepening of cooperation between the University of Tirana and University of Poitiers, France, also as co-author and director of some successful joint European projects in the field of teaching and research ”.

On 06.03.2021 the Academic Senate of the University of Tirana honored Prof. Evelyne Lande, professor at the University of Poitiers, France as “Doctor Honoris Causa” with the motivation of an “Outstanding personality of finance and accounting, with special contributions to the establishment and deepening of cooperation between the University of Tirana and University of Poitiers, France, also as co-author and director of some successful joint European projects in the field of teaching and research ”.

The award for the title “Doctor Honoris Causa” was a proposal from the deanery of the Faculty of Economics, as an appreciation of Ms. Lande’s contribution for a period of almost 20 years in establishing and consolidating the cooperation between the University of Tirana and University of Poitiers.

During these years of cooperation between the two universities, there have been 122 Albanian students who have attended University of Poitiers and 21 other students coming from the fields of Economics and Law from the University of Tirana are expected to attend University of Poitiers in the next academic year. In terms of incoming mobility, 18 French students have come to Albania, 8 of whom are currently attending the University of Tirana. In addition, thanks to this long-term cooperation, 32 Albanian professors and 26 French professors, who have contributed to the development of new projects at the University of Tirana, have had the opportunity to pay reciprocal visits.

Prof. Dr. Artan Hoxha, Rector of the University of Tirana praised the commitment of Mrs. Lande on the establishment and sustainable development of the relations between the two universities. As Rector of the university, he highlighted the commitment and support for future projects and cooperation.

Prof. Dr. Dhori Kule, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, emphasized the extremely important role in linking and consolidating the cooperative relations between the University of Poitiers and the University of Tirana for building a functional, strategic, long-term and the highest level of partnership.

In addition to appreciating and thanking Mrs. Lande for her contribution, Prof. Dr. Sherif Bundo expressed the commitment to continue this fruitful cooperation and mentioned how this cooperation can serve as a model of success with other international partners in the future.

Mrs. Lande expressed that she felt honored for receiving this high title by the University of Tirana and highlighted the readiness for continuing this cooperation and expanding it further in the future. As ambassador of the University of Tirana to the University of Poitiers, Professor Lande expressed her commitment to further intensify future collaborations in all areas of common interest.
